04 » Cannon Beach

Some brand new work for you this week. I had the chance to explore Cannon Beach with my parents and spent a morning on the beach with my dad. We woke up for a sunrise that didn't happen, but the marine layer made for an ethereal morning. I really liked this minimal scene with this washed up log during low tide. With the seaweed and other life stuck to it on the left and stripped away towards the right. The soft colors of the scene and contrast the dark log creates. I really like this minimal, simple style of photography.

I'm not used to shooting in misty conditions so as I prepare for my move up to Washington for the next few months I'm looking forward to exploring what I'm drawn to in these conditions.

Currently battling COVID, so keeping it short and sweet this week. See you next week!

27 » Using imperfection to create perfect memories Happy Wednesday y'all, I'm Alex, and you're reading Stillnotes, a photography newsletter about more than just photography. Thanks for reading. Imperfect images create perfect memories This week I was sifting through my archive and landed on a trip to the California coast last summer. I headed to Bodega Bay to visit my sister, and my brother's family came up to join for the weekend. It was a slow, relaxing few days of playing around the yard,...
